Accurate attendance records are the foundation of safe, well-run childcare. Fleedu gives you two ways to mark attendance: a quick QR code scan at drop-off that works for both staff and parents, and a manual method for marking attendance directly from your class roster inside the app. Both methods update the attendance record instantly, feed into the reporting dashboard, and make the information available to parents in the Fleedu Parent App — so everyone always knows who is in the building.

Attendance Methods

Manual attendance is the fastest option when you’re inside the classroom and need to take a quick roll call — for example, at the start of the day before drop-off traffic has settled or when checking attendance during a group activity.
1

Open the Attendance screen

From the main navigation menu, tap Attendance. Today’s date is selected by default. You’ll see your class roster with every enrolled student listed.
2

Select your class

If you teach more than one class or have access to multiple rooms, use the Class dropdown at the top to select the correct group before marking attendance.
3

Mark each student

For each student on the roster, tap the status indicator next to their name and choose one of the following:
StatusWhen to use
PresentChild has arrived and is in the classroom.
AbsentChild is not at school today.
LateChild arrived after the official start time.
SickChild is absent due to illness (as reported by parent).
PermittedChild is absent with an advance approved excuse.
Use the Mark All Present button at the top of the roster to set everyone as present in one tap, then individually update any students who are absent. This is usually faster than marking each student one by one.
4

Add a note (optional)

Tap the note icon next to any student to add a free-text note — for example, “Parent called ahead, will arrive at 09:30” or “Sent home at 11:00 due to fever.” Notes are visible in the attendance record and in reports.
5

Save attendance

Tap Save to confirm the record. The attendance data is saved immediately and becomes visible to parents in the Fleedu Parent App.
Attendance data is visible to parents as soon as it is saved. Parents will see their child’s status (Present, Absent, etc.) in the app, which helps reassure them that their child has been safely received at school.

View Attendance Records

You can review attendance for an individual student or your entire class at any time. By student:
  1. Go to Students and open the student’s profile.
  2. Tap the Attendance tab to see a calendar view of their attendance history.
  3. Tap any date to see the status recorded for that day, including the timestamp and any notes.
By class:
  1. Go to Attendance and select a date (or date range) using the date picker.
  2. Your class roster will show each student’s status for the selected period.
  3. Use the Filter option to show only students with a specific status — for example, to see everyone who was absent last week at a glance.

Attendance Reports

Detailed attendance reports are available on the Fleedu Desktop Dashboard, which administrators and teachers can access via a web browser. To run a report:
  1. Log in to the desktop dashboard at your school’s Fleedu URL.
  2. Navigate to Reports → Attendance.
  3. Select the class, date range, and any additional filters (e.g., status type).
  4. Click Generate Report. The report can be viewed on screen, exported as a PDF, or downloaded as a CSV file for use in spreadsheets.
Reports include attendance totals per student, daily attendance rates for the class as a whole, and a breakdown by status type. These are useful for identifying patterns — for example, a student who is frequently late or absent — and for preparing data required by government regulatory bodies.

Editing Attendance Records

Mistakes happen. If you need to correct an attendance record after it has been saved:
  1. Go to Attendance and select the date you need to correct.
  2. Find the student on the roster.
  3. Tap their current status and select the correct one from the dropdown.
  4. Tap Save Changes.
All edits to attendance records are logged with a timestamp and the name of the staff member who made the change. This audit trail is visible to school administrators in the desktop dashboard under Reports → Attendance Audit Log.
When you edit an attendance record, the updated status becomes visible to parents in the Fleedu Parent App immediately. If the change is significant — for example, correcting a child from Present to Absent — consider reaching out to the parent directly through the Messaging feature to explain the correction and avoid confusion.
If a parent doesn’t have their child’s QR code available, the teacher or reception staff can mark the student as present manually from the class roster. The attendance record will not show a scan timestamp in this case, but the status and arrival note can be added manually. Administrators can also regenerate and resend the QR code to the parent from the student’s profile if needed.
Yes. Parents can submit an Absence Notice through the Fleedu Parent App before the school day begins. When a teacher opens the attendance roster, students with a pending absence notice will be flagged so the teacher can confirm the absence status in one tap. The parent’s absence reason is attached to the record as a note.
Yes. When you generate a student development report, Fleedu can include an attendance summary section showing the total number of school days, days present, days absent, and absence reasons for the reporting period. This gives parents a complete picture of their child’s engagement alongside their developmental progress.
